My aim in life is to be interesting, and well-travelled. These are some of the best trips I’ve planned, with itineraries, maps and recommendations.
-
Venice - City break heaven
I was totally prepared to be underwhelmed by Venice: touristy, overblown and over-rated. But it was love at first sight. This is a city break I’d happily repeat every year.
-
Scotland - The North Coast 500
You can do this drive in 48 hours, but if you do, you’ll miss almost everything that’s brilliant about it. Instead, we took two weeks over it, and it still wasn’t nearly long enough to see everything.
-
Greek Islands - The Cyclades
Greece is one of the most perfect countries in the world to holiday in - azure seas, white sands, delicious, simple food, sun and some of the friendliest people on the planet. These are my favourite islands and how to hop between them.
-
Southern Spain - Andalucia
Majestic cities like Seville and Grenada, windswept beach abutting the African coast and perfect mountain villages where time stands still.
-
Northern Spain - Along the Camino
Starting at the finishing point of a million pilgrimages - Santiago de Compostela, and heading into the hinterland of Galicia and the craggy mountain peaks of Asturias.
-
Norway - Into the Fjords
Once of the most beautiful countries I’ve ever visited - view fatigue is a serious concern. We travelled down many of the most celebrated routes for this two-week itinerary.
